Winter's breath

A season's change, shivers creep,

as hairs stands, in a chilling breeze,

while skin dried, when moisture leaves,

feeling the pulse, of winter's breath.

The time of rest, that planet face,

in a world, cloaked in white glaze,

as night gets longer, shortening days,

we seek the comfort, of warm blankets.

There were many, enjoying vacations,

in freezing lakes or snowy mountains,

for skating, sledding, or skiing outside,

or enjoy the views, over hot coffees. ( or tea)

Yet, the natural world tries the hardest,

birds migrate to the warmer climates,

trees shed leaves, plant enter dormancy,

animals hibernates, to conserve energy.

For, everything, a part of cosmic blend,

letting it transform, our way of living,

as the cold seeps, into the atmosphere,

chilling the air, with winter's breath...
