What the world truly lack

What the world truly lacks...

Is to be satisfied with their lives,

accepting things with the flow,

relying on instincts or desires,

but never on greed or ambitions. 

Don't get me wrong...

Aspirations were important, 

for us to rise, in our positions,

but wishes can only be granted,

by putting efforts, in right directions. 

Yet, we stray, make comparison,

finding ways, accumulate possessions, 

ignoring our realities, the duties assigned,

corrupting our thoughts & practices, 

to hasten perceived progression. 

When a society is led by power,

kindness and compassion suffers,

for, wrongdoings were rewarded,

while sacrifices being ignored,

setting a bad precedent to follow. 

Those who have found their way,

preach others, out of goodwill,

still it's futile, to ones struggling,

facing the brunt, being at the bottom,

striving to attain basic necessities. 

So, what world truly lacks,

is true contentment of heart,

experiencing deficiencies in lives,

being exposed to grand lifestyles,

creating endless cycles of hunger...
