In this world, we have to live,
witnessing joy, and the sufferings,
that involves us, sometimes others,
affecting your thoughts & feelings...
Yet, now society dictates, our actions,
making us more distant, to reactions,
losing the virtues, empathy & compassion,
of being sympathetic, to other's needs.
For, we dissociate, avert our eyes,
ignoring their cries, we turn away,
chasing shadows, of fragile peace,
or have pleasures, pursuing greed.
In this world, we have to live,
strive for duties, earn our keep,
grab the power, please our palate,
constantly worrying, not be left behind.
So, we dissociate, from the misery,
that has afflicted, our surroundings,
building invisible walls, as they weep,
and keep our conscience, fast asleep.
