If only, I had known,

the truth, you as a person, 

I would have trodden cautiously,

and not have deeply fallen,

surrendering my emotions... 

And I waited, with devotion, 

for a future of togetherness,

sharing vulnerable moments,

giving you my treasured trust,

only to be used & betrayed... 

You were in my thoughts,

evoking heart's desire,

sprouting tender affections, 

dreaming of a beautiful world,

with one, I truly admired... 

Yet, you chose to lie,

kept me guessing your intentions, 

only to learn much later,

you were never serious,

mocking my pleas, and distress. 

I was mistaken, so I atone,

choose to walk away, all alone,

no more rosy gardens, that entice,

yet stab back, poisoned spine,

for, your hearts, is made of stone...
