We give names

Since ancient times,

we had named surroundings,

from people to wild animals,

mountains, rivers & oceans,

villages, towns and nations,

had their own identification.

They carried echos of the past,

things they were most attached,

changing labels with the time,

leaving traces of the predecessors,

containing records of lost era.

We give names,

to feel that connection,

with familiar, or historical figures,

giving respect, marking presence,

representations of regional specialty,

and hoping ,to leave our legacies...

For, they were unique,

diverse in their ways,

uniformity might damage,

the culture, that was made,

containing stories of their exploits.

We give names,

helping us not forget,

not just terminologies,

but the message engraved,

passing down in generations...
