We invest in dreams

We invest in dreams,

with all the glittery themes,

that fuels our self-esteem,

while distracting, from the routines, 

for, ordinary, is too boring... 

We seek the dazzling display, 

in the screens, on the stage,

sharing stories, of experiences,

giving insights, influencing minds,

connecting, with our aesthetics... 

A constant stream of videos,

provide fleeting joy, dopamine surge,

working hard, to keep us occupied,

let revenues flow, into their pockets,

while taking us away, from our realities... 

Creating a dangerous situation, 

of viewers, falling into addictions,

neglecting duties, or self-care, 

falling behind, in the shadows,

failing, to reach our true potential... 

So, we invest in dreams,

more of some shallow schemes, 

for, our priorities, were changing,

indulging in desires of beauty,

avoiding the necessities, of our life... 

And I fear, of days to come,

where we face, incoming storms,

are we prepared, given enough care,

for the ones, who would volunteer, 

in a world, rewarding selfishness??
