Narcissism

Narcissism....

We consider it a disorder,

with unreasonable sense,

of their self-importance...

Yet, it's mostly a spectrum,

prevalent in our population, 

where we could see people,

demonstrating these traits. 

They have hunger for admiration,

to remain, in the center of attention,

expecting special treatments,

for a perceived, higher status...

These tendencies, could be changed,

when living, within familiar circles,

yet, newer generations became prone,

with social media, fueling this fire. 

Still, they were easier to detect,

there are types, that lies hidden,

for, narcissism, has two dimensions, 

one’s grandiose, other is vulnerable...

Grandiose, has dominance & aggression, 

is self-assured, deceitful & immodest,

While Vulnerable, were more introverted,

being cold, distrustful, egoistic & hostile. 

Narcissism...

Each dimensions of these traits,

share a common core thread,

that can be displayed,

in their contempt-proneness.

That feeling of superiority, 

while a visible lack, of empathy,

makes them either egomaniac, 

or too prideful, of their image...

Thus, they have outbursts, over criticisms. 

So, my dear friends,

let us be more mindful,

try to check these impulses, 

and not have them grow,

Within us, or close ones...
