Stuck in an elevator

Life could have been smooth ride,

achieving milestones one at a time,

each stage comes as new floor,

when I ascend, riding an elevator.

For, life felt like high-rise building,

where each story display success,

seen from far, these tall skyscrapers,

were my ticket, for greater positions.

Yet, I faced many obstacles,

power outrage brought turbulence,

when relations or financial goals,

were lacking to social expectations.

And I stood, getting bewildered,

putting efforts, pushing the buttons,

a sense of unease, starts to set in,

feeling helpless, as realizations sinks.

Frustrations builds, clock keeps ticking,

I tried distractions, to stop from worrying,

rationalizing situation, while keep wishing,

for a miracle, of starting the elevator.

For, sometimes, circumstances dictates,

whether the lift, moves to top floors,

stealing away the precious moments,

facing uncertainties, while being caged...

Letting go of dreams, each passing moment.
