Era of war

Since ancient times, 

there have been fights,

individuals and communities,

regional or between countries, 

gaining traction each passing days,

depending on strength & influences,

through militaries or ideologies, 

in this battle of territories. 

Era of war... 

We might denounce,

but still harbor the doubts,

accumulating wealth & weapons,

instigating minds against enemies, 

through fear, bribe, and betrayals, 

keep them subdued or occupied,

till we achieve the means,

to command domination. 

Era of war... 

We naturally seek peace,

yet, are susceptible to the sins,

of desires, anger, hatred, greed,

fuelling our delusions & pride,

to seek control, spread influences, 

bringing others under authority,

regardless of cost being paid,

by our brethren or surroundings. 

Era of war... 

When it begins,

after an uneasy calm,

forcefully shake things,

and we are mere spectators, 

protest, or become supporters,

while the neutral suffers,

knowing the struggles, 

of ones affected.
