Speedbreakers

They are the shakers,

slowing speedy vehicles,

minimizing risks of accidents, 

in residential neighborhoods. 

Raised surfaces, creating vertical deflection,

vehicles experiences bumps, when driven, 

discouraging the impulse of rushing ride,

by causing discomforts to our bodies. 

Yet, they become a headache, 

bringing pain, from the damages

when unplanned, poorly designed,

or illegally constructed, by local residents. 

Some don’t follow regulatory guidelines,

badly constructed, without warning signs,

random dimensions and the placements,

out of reactions, to sporadic accidents. 

The victims, were vulnerable masses,

impacting health, of riders & occupants,

as shockwave travels, through the vehicles, 

placing stress on our spines and muscles. 

Yet, not rules, we prefer control,

destroying public roads, for personal goal,

doesn't help cause, when illegally built,

damaging reputations, of speed breakers!
