We would have been strained,
when it was difficult to maintain,
rising demands of population...
So it came as our savior,
changing actions & behavior,
towards growth & development.
Grains...
They were essential,
shaping human civilizations,
by transitioning our lifestyle.
With the rise of agriculture,
we stopped being hunter-gatherers,
creating settled societies.
They were part of staple diet,
likes of wheat, rice and barley,
easily cultivable in lands.
It could be stored for years,
having surplus to not fear,
times of hunger and starvation.
Yet, they became valuable commodities,
the fundamental component of economy,
and the changing power dynamics.
They promote cultural exchanges,
through trade networks spreading,
while helping function of authorities.
Still, they also brought conflicts,
social unrests, to political upheavals,
for the control, of prized necessities.
Wars were fought between nations,
a struggle ensures within environment,
as resources were being exploited.
