Chonky

My face beams, watching their acts,

there round bodies, in fluffy attire,

they walk, lay, stumble or play,

being lazy, clumsy, slow in days. 

Chonky... 

These chubby creatures, 

might have been fortunate, 

having their hunger satiate,

while being spoiled enough

to make body overweight,

or just a natural process, 

of accumulating fats,

storing for the future. 

And it tickles, our funny bones,

watching plump body, puffy cheeks,

be the chubby cats or per dogs,

and wild rodents like squirrels, 

even marmots and groundhog, 

being too large for their sizes,

creates unique sense of humor, 

bringing smiles on our lips. 

Chonky... 

We want to hold and play,

to pet, even mess with them,

laugh at their visible annoyance, 

and carry snacks, as peace offerings. 

for, it's just an affectionate call,

we still understand the concerns,

for being aware of the risks,

of them becoming overweight.
