Doodling

One of the fun memories,

we had in childhood years,

were all the pictures & patterns,

we would carve, in any structures.

Be it the walls, or the tables,

on the sides, of our notebooks,

even tried our hand on edibles,

like wheat flour, or food on plates.

And they came, like splashing waves,

as I was scribbling, one of these days,

for, I was bored, daydreaming even,

unaware my hands, acting on its own.

It's a smile face, almost so cliché,

yet seemed so endearing as it is,

being part of me, in many situations,

to create art, from random thoughts,

by providing stage, for my fickle mind.

Doodling...

It's not just sign of boredom,

or a sign, of our inattention,

but a way, to express creativity,

letting it out, prevent the stress.

It also helps us passively engage,

even on topics of disinterest,

it may help us retain memory,

by keeping right level of arousal...

Not letting information slipping away.

Regardless of benefits, or its drawbacks,

for us, they were moment of amusement,

drawing it ourselves or watching others,

doodling away, absentmindedly...
