A bull on the road

"It's a bull sir..."

A shout from my driver,

as I waited impatiently,

for the traffic to clear up.

" Not again," I grunted,

facing this routine hurdle,

for, they were the boss,

owning these street roads...

Standing in the center,

they block path before us,

the two-wheelers skid by,

yet it stalls our four wheeler.

And I went out with others,

tried to create an opening,

by pushing it out of way,

through force or requests.

" Oh Nandi maharaj,

kindly listen to our plea,

we have urgent business,

please change your seats. "

Yet, the the stubborn bovine,

ignored our very existence,

calmly chewing food inside,

being unfazed by the uproar.

We were frustrated, tried to push

but were cautious, of those horns,

some even gave, bribe of fruits,

hoping to lure it, out of the road.

Yet, it showed us, no interest,

either inattentive, or was deliberate,

and we were getting drenched,

with sweats, from humid climate.

Finally, an old man came,

asked us to rest or return,

as he gently brushed the bull,

and nudged, it's head laterally.

And slowly, a gap was created,

I conveyed my thanks passing,

as the old man stood smiling,

with the bull, on his sides...
