Hunger

It's a gnawing pain,

that drive us insane,

forcing to take action,

to pull up it's rein.

When afflicted with poverty,

and left without resources,

its battle for everyday meal,

to survive by any means.

It's presence is scorned,

being seen with pity,

Yet there are places,

it's an auspicious feeling.

As a mean to show devotion,

used in prayers and meditation,

the path of the pious,

is through some ritualistic fasting.

Then there's the diseased,

a consequence of one's greed,

to seek it as a therapy,

for prolonging their living.

But it's also a word of literature,

arousing thoughts through motivation,

to develop passion and desires,

a path to success that we aspire.

It's indeed a part of life,

having it's values and significance,

for individual growth or social changes,

and guiding policies of the nations.
