Tsukumogami

An idea, or a belief,

in folktales of far east,

showing us to take care,

value the things we utilize. 

Tsukumogami...

Object of daily use,

gaining spirit or a soul,

when existed for a hundred years,

be it personal or household items. 

Bring good luck, and protect owners,

or play pranks, cause disturbances, 

but may even become vengeful,

if harmed or treated poorly. 

So, people cared, give offerings,

prayed for help, appeasing spirits,

even becoming object of artworks,

inspiring artist's imagination & creations. 

Yet, hidden within these subject,

lies a very beautiful message,

of caring these tools & objects,

which added, value to our living...
