Happy Holi

It's the festival of colors,

bringing joy, with full fervor, 

be it children, youth or elders,

everyone were greeting others...

Happy Holi!

Spring arrives, welcoming sight,

time for gathering, celebrating life,

generations meet, traditions intertwined, 

commencing with prayers, to the deities.

We sit together, hear the tales, 

of ancient times, when evil prevailed,

yet, goodness rise, victory claimed, 

bringing blessing, to the masses.

For many, it's a cultural exchange,

spreading love, when we engage,

making friends, forgetting differences, 

and come together, on the stage.

Singing, dancing, playing games,

applying gulal (abir), on the faces,

drenching from the colorful sprays,

as atmosphere dazzles, in vibrant display.

And we visit, friends and families, 

sharing snacks, & delicious sweets,

likes of samosa, gujiya, thandai, 

make our heart jump with joy.
