Ambitions

Ambitions...

A trait that promotes,

our drive towards the goals,

fueled by thriving aspirations,

a hunger to achieve positions,

of getting wealth, fame or power,

standing on the top of this tower,

being admired for our contributions,

grabbing all the opportunities available,

to attain glory, from our successes, 

helping us find followers,

those who listens, to our orders,

fulfilling all of our expectations ,

to finally be relieved,

Of our obligations. 

Yet, we forget... 

Ambitions...

Are detrimental, 

feeding our ego,

with every step we take,

climbing these tall castles,

secured by walls and pillars,

never trying, to touch the ground,

by being humble, showing compassion, 

for, everything is to be measured,

through the prism of our benefits, 

losing the intent or inclinations, 

of retaining, essence of relations,

as we became more demanding,

never to make any concessions, 

in our quest, for perfectionism.
