Civic sense

We look around to blame,

any disorders and the damages,

in buildings, transport or pavements,

infrastructures that need repairs.

We rue the continued incompetence,

of our administrator and government,

With meek protests or surrendering,

rationalizing self about defective systems.

Yet, we forget, that this world,

also have faced similar situations,

from higher population densities,

to widening income gap among people.

They, too, faced truant weathers,

from earthquakes or overflowing river,

development too played its role,

in the damages around the dwellings.

Yet, they had kept things in order,

from policies to implementations,

so, where do they have excelled,

where we as a nation have failed?

It all comes down to respect for work,

with accountability, & minimal corruptions,

better coordination, within government,

would have achieved, the desired conditions.

We take pride in our diversities,

having ancient values infused lifestyle,

yet, everything floats on the surface,

deep down, we chase the profits.

Having excuses, presenting the problems,

no one listens, brainstorms solutions,

hard work mocked, praising easy money,

it's a race to attain, power and glory...

A land of spirituality, fallen to materialism.

So, let us take moment to ponder,

our duties, responsibilities as a citizen,

for, the government is our representation,

what we are, shows on the ground.

It's our civic sense...

We are the one, to be blamed!
