The festival of light,
we celebrate with families,
honoring victory of righteousness,
over falsehoods and wrongdoings.
We take inspirations from history,
dedicated to visions & sacrifice,
welcome with grand homecoming,
showing our joy and delights.
It may vary, depending on regions,
still are part, of dharmic traditions,
where we invoke deities, or occasions,
legacies of which, cherished in person.
Being presented, in grand displays,
or participated alone, in humble stays,
when home were illuminated by glow,
Candles, LED bulbs, lamps of clay.
Happy Deepawali...
Of the rangoli, decorated on entrance,
windows & doors, adorns rows of diyas,
with fragrance and smoke of lit incense,
and sounds of chants, permeating in air.
The atmosphere charged with laughters,
sweets and feasts fills dining tables,
as young and old gather outside,
lighting crackers and sparkles together.
