Have we ever wondered,
how our cooking procedures,
have impacted surroundings,
putting pressure on forests,
on trees and wildlifes?
It was a common practice,
people collected fuel wood,
causing death by thousand cuts,
becoming driver of forest degradation.
As the population grew,
diversity drop, jungles thin out,
when rate of removal exceeded,
sustainable yield of forest. (ability to regrow)
With advent of LPG,
promoted with government schemes,
we developed environmental shields,
allowing forests to regenerate covers.
Yet, present global crisis,
bringing back old strategies,
rural areas reverting to methods,
of using stoves with firewood.
So, how can we mitigate the risks,
when other systems are unavailable,
as induction cookers don't function,
and coal can be temporary buffer...
Are we heading for another wave,
Of deforestation?
