Cyclone Fani

Hello friends, it's been a while that I followed up my story of Shikharpur days and the reason being , our city Bhubanewar was hit by a Category 4 Hurricane named Cyclone Fani.
It devastated the world famous city Puri and uprooted many trees, electric lines, towers here in Bhubaneswar. I was there in our hospital doing my duties as cyclone came in its full force and plundered the city and its infrastructure, biodiversity for 4-5 hours.
Trees were uprooted, roof flew away, and even in our hospital, glasses were broken, vehicles falls, gates damaged.
I was watching it from our window glass and saw how much force it had and it was scary too.
After the passing of the cyclone, when I went outside.the place was barren. Such great scenic and planned city of ours, was completely devastated and people were shaken to the core. But we had tasks in hand and first was to clear the road from Galen branches, trees, hoardings, walls. After that I went home.
What followed was 2 weeks of disconnection of electricity and internet. So, we were practically cut from rest of world.

Its rare to have cyclone/ hurricane in May here in our state. It mostly comes post monsoon around September and October. But this time it was surprisingly rare and was thought to be result of global warming and other man made activities. Anyway, Odisha (our state) and Bhubaneswar will fight back and stand again. And I would be back here in no time. Just few lines for today..

Cyclone Fani..
The force you had,
showing off the dangers,
of nature gone mad.

We as people,
done something wrong,
facing the consequences,
to whom it belong!

But we shouldn't be saddened,
Nor fall in despair,
for we could grow again,
with some compassion and care. 🙂
