A bit drowsy, I feel,
seeking rest, so I steal,
momentary glances, to have chance,
letting a yawn, or sneaking a nap.
Eyelids heavy, ready to shut,
doesn't listen to orders or reasons,
like a gentle tug, that's pulling me,
into the world of sweet dreams.
As my thoughts slows down,
senses become dull to the surroundings,
so I slowly keep drifting away,
unable to maintain my composure.
And I wish, to have an escape,
let sleep descend, like a soft embrace,
for, in slumber's lap, worries will cease,
these weary eyes, find its release.
Just a few moments more,
my work time will be over,
and finally, I would be at home,
falling down, into my soft bed.
Till then, let me try,
keeping open, my tired eyes,
let no lullaby or white noise,
act as a spoilsport...
And I will claim my rest,
surrendering body, to my bed.
