Surrendering

It's a forbidden word,

to be used in modern discourse, 

indicating something sinister,

going inside people's minds. 

It's the fear that arouse,

evoking memories of troubled past,

a sense of forced servitude, 

that could steal our freedom.

And we would build tall walls,

as years spent gaining grounds,

for the assurance of support, 

something to fall back. 

Still, we feel the emptiness, 

tormenting our mental space,

with yearnings, as heart aches,

for someone, in special place.

Most do find, get experiences, 

building together, something serious,

yet, there are conflicts, ego clashes, 

creating rifts, making bonds fragile. 

Surrendering... 

The path of strengthening relations,

involves making conscious decisions, 

of letting go, our need to control,

while accepting, the natural flow.

Prioritizing connections, not arguments,

expressing feelings, open communication, 

having faith in commitments of companion, 

help us embrace, vulnerabilities in relations.
