E-wastes

In the world of modernity, 

there's dominance of gadgets,

but in our fascination of its allure,

we are blinded, to see the menace.

Uncountable numbers of materials,

unimaginable solutions of chemical,

are being used in the productions,

and generation of the E-wastes. 

E-waste, a silent threat, 

its dangers, we must not forget,

likes of mercury, lead and cadmium,

are lurking within, in deadly tandem. 

Recycling is a costly affair, 

very few go to organized care,

while most were discarded unattended, 

to be scavenged by unorganized sectors. 

All the smartphones, TV and appliances,

have come to you with expiry dates,

yet, no mechanisms are in place,

to give them the required end.

And they end up in the streets,

broken and treated with acid wash,

these chemicals and harmful metals,

would then pollute grounds and rivers. 

So, let's give it a serious thought,

limit our use of devices and products,

create newer industries that utilizes,

refurbish old ones or reuse the parts.

And we educate, spread the words,

that E-waste is a ticking time bomb,

so change our ways, without delay,

to protect the future of the planet.
