Just don't tell me...

I know it wouldn't last,

just don't tell me... 

Childhood...

We had an adventure, 

exploring our neighborhoods,

studies and mischiefs in schools,

and playing games, with friends. 

College days were fun,

with worries and concerns,

newer feelings that sprouted,

those excitements & nervousness,

stepping to the world of adulthood. 

Working days were hectic,

earning salaries were exhilarating, 

those outings, with our colleagues, 

getting praises, and responsibilities, 

becoming part of the society. 

There were days of breaks & vacations, 

spending on visits, mountain & oceans,

playing games, watching favorite shows,

enjoying moments, in countless days & nights,

yet, they fade away, from our memories. 

They never stay, even when we tried,

waiting to depart, without a farewell,

reminding us, of its transient nature,

watching it slip by, as we got older,

the cherished time, we spent here... 

So, I don't entertain, gloomy thoughts,

that brings agony, for those losses,

rather treasure, close to my heart,

for, I know, it wouldn't last,

just don't tell me that...
