A term coined, in 20th century,
gained prominence, in recent narratives,
presenting a form, of psychological control,
through manipulation and abuse of power.
Gaslighting...
It makes others question their sanity,
by denying events, or contradicting,
while dismissing concerns or feelings,
confusing victims, by twisting reality.
And they fall, to the abuser,
believing words, from their mouth,
causing them to loss self-esteem,
by doubting their own judgment.
But now, with growing awareness,
there's recognition of the damages,
people discussing, identifying behaviors,
using social media, to disseminate information.
Groups were formed, sharing experiences,
getting validation, fostering deeper bondings,
as emphasis given, caring mental health,
where therapy sought, in extreme cases.
Still, we need to be cautious,
let such terms, be not misused,
understanding positives & negatives,
before labeling something...
