Society moves in certain directions,
depending on values, of individual persons,
rising to the heights, with people's support,
or falling to pits, facing selfish actions...
Feeling entitled, as generations changed,
standing against traditions, with defiance,
some were needed, as welcome change,
still most seep inside, like deadly poison.
There's nothing wrong, in legitimate claims,
but most now misused, for putting blames,
seeking special treatments or privileges,
without putting efforts, to earn them.
They have no integrity or feel shame,
or be empathetic, to other's situations,
having a false sense of deservingness,
they force their unjustified opinions.
And I wonder, how things changed,
and we reached, the breaking point
where it is pursued actively outside,
promoting the culture of disrespect.
And I realize, we were the reason,
breaking families, for self indulgence,
where children have permissive parenting,
gaining rewards, without achievements.
Without knowing the struggles of life,
they grow up with entitled behaviors,
developing an inflated sense of ego,
normalizing such actions everywhere.
Still, some might be personality disorder,
stemmed out of trauma or low self-esteem,
while others were narcissistic tendencies,
leading to unrealistic expectations.
Feeling entitled...
And we saw its rise,
promoted by selective prisms,
of social platform's curated versions.
For, they showcase & highlight,
materialistic success & possessions,
increasing envy & desires among masses,
leading to futile competitions.
